IMG_0204We are Grafted In by Andrea Fields
While speaking with my friend, Sharon*, who was burned over a large area of their body, I commented on how beautifully her skin healed.  Sharon told me that her skin had been grafted. Talk about a revelation!
Romans 11:17 says: “…you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God’s special olive tree.”
Skin grafts that take well heal on a person exactly the way their original skin does. The most beautiful thing about grafted skin is that it saves people who have been burned from being seen different or scarred, a stigma which often occurs.
So it is with you and me.  When we accept/accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God grafted us into the kingdom of His beloved children.  As we patiently endure the process of healing by spending time in prayer and reading his most holy word, the scars of our past heal and fade away, and our minds become completely transformed (Romans 12:2) as do our lives. God is faithful, He is able to make all of those old things in our lives pass away and often be forgotten as we are being made into new in creations in Him  (2 Corinthians 5:17).
It all starts with a simple prayer fashioned after Romans 10:9-13, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Let’s be thankful that the sins of our past have no effect on our future.
