For five years 7:26am, Friday morning used to be one of my favorite times of the week during my old commute to work. At that minute of the morning Chicago’s WBEZ radio played interviews between friends and family called StoryCorps. It was short, but very personal, very real. There is something very comforting and cathartic about knowing people’s story. Makes you feel less alone. Also, you’re forced to listen. You can’t respond, because it’s the radio, you don’t start thinking about what the means to you – you just listen. (Click HERE to hear a StoryCorps podcast).
Sharing part of your life reminds me of 1 Peter 3:15, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” Many of us are storytellers, good at it or not. Eager to share interesting things about the lives we’ve lived and things we’ve seen. Are you eager to share your stories of faith? How you met Jesus, what you’ve been through together? Have you mastered the art of listening?
Will you share about how Jesus changed your life?
