Day 2 – Exceedingly Abundantly
by: Makayla Broer

“Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV)

Do we live like we believe God is capable of doing exceedingly abundantly more?  Or do we live our lives drawing lines, putting up walls, and making boxes?
I am so guilty of this. I like to live safely. I love having expectations that are practical enough to be met.  Yes, I believe in God and when asked if I believe if God is capable of doing exceedingly abundantly more, I would say yes. But am I actually living out the belief that God is more than capable?
Are we, as women in the church, living lives that reflect what Paul is saying here about God? Are we setting examples to others and encouraging them by the way we live to believe in a God who is able to do more? With a God who is capable of exceedingly abundantly more, we don’t have to be stuck in routines. We don’t necessarily have to do what others expect of us, or become who they tell us to be. We do not have to live these perfect lives that fit in some sort of mold. We do not have to be afraid of the future and worry about whether or not it is going to go as planned—because chances are it won’t.
So take chances. Put your heart out there and love deeply. Say YES. Step out in faith.  Do that thing you have always wanted to do that scares you. Because we serve a God who is above anything that we can ask or think of. We serve a God whose power is limitless. We serve a God whose love never fails. Let us choose together to be women who lean into the exceedingly abundantly more that God has for us.

Thoughts to Ponder:
What have you been doubting?

What have you been wanting to ask God for but haven’t asked yet?
