Reimagining Women’s Ministries for the Short Term – Volume 2

The Salvation Army International
posted this to their Facebook page:

All around the world, workplaces, restaurants, bars, clubs and many activities and events are closing down or being cancelled. This includes, in many places, Salvation Army gatherings. For many of us, this can be really difficult.

Gathering together and sharing in fellowship is usually so important. We are called to do so in the Bible – for example in Acts 2. So whilst we understand how important it is not to meet just now – to protect the vulnerable – we also recognize the impact that being isolated is going to have on lots of people.

We’ve put together these ideas for how we can keep on caring for each other, and keep on being people who care.

* Phone, text or video call a friend.
* Help with shopping and other goods.
* Uphold a friend in prayer.
* Give a gift of entertainment to somebody who is isolated.
* Support a struggling local restaurant or café.
* Open your windows and sing or make music!
* Support food banks, pantries and community cupboards.
* Drop cards with your contact details through your neighbors’ doors.

Let’s keep REIMAGINING how to be lights in our communities!
