Ok, but what is Commissioning? If that’s a question you’re asking right now, let me try to explain. In short, it’s a weekend conference, ordination and celebration. The first two day are in the style of a conference. There will be three sessions (Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night) of worship, teaching and a focused highlight on ministries that take place in our territory. On Sunday things shift towards commissioning and ordaining the next session of graduating officers as they eagerly anticipate taking the field. Overall the whole weekend is a celebratory gathering of Salvationist coming together in this style, once a year, to enjoy comradery with old and new friends. To receive sound teaching, enjoy meaningful worship, and cheer and celebrate the newest commissioned officers (pastors) of The Salvation Army Central Territory.
