Supplemental Materials to Continue the Conversation

A Year Beyond Abide – Follow-up

It has almost been one year since we gathered at Green Lake Conference Center for the Abide Women’s Conference 2024. Are you still abiding? Below is a 6-week small group discussion series to remind you of what you learned at Abide and how it impacted your life.

Even if you didn’t attend the Abide conference, these questions will still stir your heart to discover how you can further abide in Christ.

Beyond Abide – Follow-Up Discussion Series

A 6-week journey to engage in further impact from the Abide Conference

Week 1: Abiding in Jesus

Scripture: John 15:4-5
Focus: Staying connected to Christ is the source of strength and fruitfulness.

  • What does “abide” mean to you after the conference?
  • Where do you feel most connected to Jesus right now?
  • What makes it hard to stay connected to Him in daily life?
Practice: Choose one daily rhythm (prayer, Scripture, worship) to commit to this week.
Supplemental question: What is one thing that impacted you from the conference?

Week 2: Identity in Christ

Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9
Focus: We are chosen, loved, and called—not defined by culture or comparison.
Discussion Questions:

  • Where do you most often seek your worth?
  • What truths about your identity in Christ encourage you?
  • How can we remind each other of our God-given identity?
Practice: Write down three “I am” statements rooted in Scripture to carry with you.
Supplemental question: How did God show you who you are in Christ at the conference?

Week 3: Community & Sisterhood

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Focus: God designed us to grow in faith together, not alone.
Discussion Questions:

  • What did you gain from the friendships or connections at Abide?
  • Why do you think community is essential for following Jesus?
  • How can we support one another in this season of life?
Practice: Pair up with a prayer/accountability partner from the group for the next 3 weeks.
Supplemental question: What did you learn from your breakout workshop?

Week 4: Calling & Purpose

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 & Ephesians 2:10
Focus: God has a unique purpose for each of us—our gifts, passions, and stories matter.
Discussion Questions:

  • What gifts or passions has God placed in your life?
  • Where do you feel unsure about your calling?
  • How can we encourage each other as we seek God’s direction?
Practice: Pray and journal about one area of life where you sense God inviting you to serve or grow.
Supplemental question: How have you worshiped God in a new way after the conference?

Week 5: Living the Truth

Scripture: John 14:6 & John 8:32
Focus: Jesus is the truth, and living in Him brings freedom and clarity in a confusing world.
Discussion Questions:

  • What “truths” does the world push that feel different from God’s truth?
  • How can living in God’s truth bring freedom in daily life?
  • Where do you need courage to stand in truth right now?
Practice: Memorize John 14:6 this week; reflect on what it means in your life.
Supplemental question: What truth did God reveal to you at the conference?

Week 6: Sent Out Together

Scripture: Matthew 28:19-20
Focus: Abiding in Christ leads to being sent—living out our faith in real ways.
Discussion Questions:

  • How can we take what we experienced at Abide and live it out here at home?
  • What is one step of faith you can take this month?
  • How can we continue supporting one another beyond this series?
Practice: End with a commissioning prayer—each woman speaks encouragement over the one next to her.
Supplemental question: How did the conference inspire you to further your connection to God in your daily life?

Optional Add-ons:

  • Group journal: keep a shared journal or digital chat for prayer requests and encouragement during the 6 weeks.
  • Service project: in weeks 5–6, plan a small group service activity to live out faith together.
  • Closing celebration: finish with a meal or worship night to mark the end of the series.
